Spring is in the air - and the boats are ready!

A quick update on what we’re seeing in the market right now - and what’s coming next.

By James Barke on 18 March, 2026

It’s been a long (but thankfully fairly mild) winter here in the UK and at last things are starting to get going again.

The global news re the Iran war is still a little uncertain at the time of writing and understandably a few buyers have pressed pause. But, if there’s one thing I’ve learnt in this industry, it’s that the real "GO" button in boating is always the weather.

And now that we’re moving into Spring with longer days and a little warmth in the sun, everything suddenly feels different. People start thinking about being back on the water again - weekends away, lunch in a quiet bay, or cruising somewhere beautiful with family and friends.

Our family has been selling boats since the late 1960s, so we’ve seen this cycle many times before. As soon as that first proper sunshine arrives, everything starts to move again.

A busy season of boat shows ahead

We’ve got some fantastic events coming up over the next couple of months where we’d love to see you.

First up is our Fairline Spring Showcase opening on 17th April at Ocean Village in Southampton, followed by the Palma Boat Show from 29th April to 2nd May, and then the British Motor Yacht Show in Swanwick on 14th May.

We love these shows because we get the chance to meet many of you in person and show you some of the latest boats from our manufacturers.

If you’re planning to visit any of these events, do get in touch with us beforehand and we can arrange a time to show you around some of the fantastic boats we currently have available.

The Mediterranean market is still strong

One of the busiest parts of the motorboat market for us continues to be used cruisers in the £200k to £4m range in the Mediterranean.

There seems to be a never-ending stream of customers looking for reliable sunshine, beautiful bays and that incredible Mediterranean cruising lifestyle.

We are real specialists in the Med - particularly Mallorca - so if you’re thinking about making the leap, give us a shout and we’d be delighted to help guide you through it.

A new personal boat shopper service

Lastly, we’re about to launch a new Personal Boat Shopper service (for boat buying of course!).

We’ll be telling you more about this on social media and YouTube soon, but it’s designed for people who are looking for the right boat but don’t have the time or knowledge to trawl through the entire market.

We’ll take care of the hard work and help you find the perfect deal - a real win-win if you’re currently in the market.
